Not that obvious that there was a swimming pool. In the foyer area we could not see any reference to it

had to move rooms as no hot water, poor help at breakfast, sat at cold space by window at breakfast, room very dirty under bed particularly and bedcovers too, too far from Kings Cross railway station to have a kings cross listing

Good hotel, just what you would expect from a Holiday Inn. Bit of a walk from the nearest tube station when you have an armful of shopping bags! but a pleasant walk nonetheless from Russell square station. Make use of the hotel pool in the basement.

If you have time - see Lord of the Rings before it closes 19th July (bargains to be had on tickets)it is such a jaw dropping never to be seen again experience.

Only complaint was we preferred a non-smoking room and we had a room on a smoking floor which could not be changed. Very close to Kings Cross Station where you can get the tube to all the London sights.

Rooms spacious by Euproean standards and very well appointed. Mega confusion at reception over payment for bookings. Difficulty in obtaining an understanding from duty staff for even the simplest of requests, like "can we please have a bottle of champagne sent to our room with four glasses" Got billed twice for extras. Problems resolved at reception but I have to ask how it's possible to make such mistakes when you're dealing with the famous and not inexpensive Holiday Inn. 15 minute walk to Farringdon tube station or £5.00 taxi fare to either King's Cross / St Pancras or Farringdon. Plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants in the immediate vicinity if going towards Farringdon which yields less expensive and better quality results. Theatre district is £12.00 taxi ride or 25 minute walk.
