The only downside is the breakfast which does not live up to the quality demonstrated throughout the rest of the hotel.

It is very conveniently situated for 'doing London'. The refurbished rooms we had on the 6th floor, were excellent. The only slight downside is the 'tightness' of the bathroom. Needed to be about a foot wider - minimum, The breakfast was excellent and all the hotel staff were most attentive and helpful
Top Tip
Visiting is very personal, but the Cartoon Museum, British Museum and British Library are excellent and very close/walkable. Likewise Dr Johnson's House, Dickens' House, Covent Garden and Theatreland.

Very stylish with great internal fixtures & fittings.
The architecture of the building is wonderful too. Ideal location for West End Show Theatre's.

Beautiful buiding, restaurant, bar and main staircase. Other decor especially rooms are bland and ageing. Bedside light missing (the light fitting missing, not just the bulb), heating controls very poor (advised by reception to set it to 28C to get any heat at all.
Top Tip
British Museum of course, nice eating, shopping, cinema and cafe area nearby at The Brunswick.

Lovely location, central enough without the prices, Leicester square one stop away on the tube! Great rooms, modern and comfortable. Lovely cosy bar with excellent red wine. Good breakfast - lots of choice. I would definitely return to The Russell.

Lo peor, sin duda, el personal del hotel. Tienen competencias tan delimitadas que hay cosas que no corresponden a nadie. Trato frío y escueto. El resto está bien, para ser Inglaterra.
